Vincent Kompany is targeting Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton as his first signing for Bayern Munich.

Wharton, who has provided three assists in 16 appearances, is currently under a five-and-a-half year contract at Selhurst Park.

However, Crystal Palace might be inclined to sell for a substantial profit on the midfielder, whom they signed earlier this year in a deal worth up to £22.5 million.

According to talkSPORT, the Eagles would consider a significant offer for the youngster.

If the deal goes through, Wharton could become Vincent Kompany’s first signing at Bayern Munich following his appointment as head coach.

Wharton may not be the only major departure from Palace this summer. Under Oliver Glasner, the team has thrived.

talkSPORT also reported that Manchester United are confident they can sign Michael Olise, with Palace seeking at least £60 million.

Eberechi Eze has been linked with a potential exit as well due to his impressive performances.

Wharton made his Palace debut in a 4-1 defeat against Brighton, coming off the bench for the injured Marc Guehi.

He has since started 15 Premier League games for the south London team, becoming a key player despite his inexperience.

Vincent Kompany has taken over as Bayern boss following Thomas Tuchel’s departure and a trophyless campaign, the first since 2012.

Kompany joins Bayern after a two-year spell at Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League this season, finishing 19th.
