Chelsea are reportedly eager to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi this summer, making the winger their ‘priority target’ for the transfer window.
The 22-year-old is contracted to Dortmund until 2027.
According to recent reports, Chelsea are intensifying their interest in Karim Adeyemi, the winger from Borussia Dortmund and the German national team.
Chelsea have been active in the early stages of the transfer window, securing the signings of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Significant changes are expected at Stamford Bridge this summer with the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season under Mauricio Pochettino, and Maresca will be tasked with guiding them back into the top four.
Adeyemi has become a top priority for Chelsea. The winger’s contract with Dortmund runs until 2027.
In an effort to bolster their attacking options, Chelsea are planning to pursue a move for Adeyemi in the coming weeks. Journalist Rudy Galetti reports that the London club is in constant contact with the player’s representatives, and Adeyemi has risen to the top of their target list for this summer. Developments are expected soon.
Adeyemi is considered one of Europe’s most promising young attacking talents. He was previously sought after by several clubs, including Liverpool, before returning to Germany in 2022.
Having represented Bayern Munich at the youth level, Adeyemi truly made a name for himself in Austria with RB Salzburg. Dortmund ultimately secured his signature two years ago, and he has impressed at the Westfalenstadion since then. Analyst Ben Mattinson has described Adeyemi as ‘electric.’
Given that Adeyemi signed a long-term contract with Dortmund, expiring in 2027, Chelsea will likely need to pay a significant fee to secure his transfer.
