“No Champions League, No Problem” – Maresca Persuades £120m Real Madrid Star to Join Chelsea Over Man United

Real Madrid winger Rodrygo would reportedly not be interested in a move to Chelsea this summer, even if an offer were made for him.

With Kylian Mbappe’s arrival, Rodrygo has been considered a potential departure from the Spanish capital. Chelsea, along with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal, have shown interest in him.

However, his representatives are reportedly not open to a move to Stamford Bridge. Manchester City, with the lure of Champions League football, is seen as a more likely destination if he leaves.

According to reporter Iomie Stanley, Rodrygo might struggle in the Premier League anyway. Stanley told icfootballnews:

“Rodrygo has had a good few seasons at Madrid, winning trophies and scoring goals, but that was without the presence of a player like Mbappe since Ronaldo left the club.

Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham are the untouchable players at Madrid, even with new signings. Rodrygo has never been in that category.

The Premier League, one of the best leagues in the world, challenges the very best players on a weekly basis. I believe Rodrygo would struggle in the English game if he were signed.

Chelsea needs to sign attackers that fit Enzo Maresca’s style. Although Rodrygo has done well at Madrid, many players can thrive in a league with only five or six top-quality teams.

If Rodrygo wants to stay at Madrid and sit on the bench every week, that’s his choice, but the Premier League is not the right place for him, and he would struggle in the English game.”
