LATEST UPDATE: Ex-Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas was seen at Stamford Bridge’s training ground this week, fueling speculation about an impressive return to management!

Cesc Fabregas has clarified the reason for his visit to Chelsea’s training ground last week and shared his surprise at Mauricio Pochettino’s sudden exit, which came just days after they had an hour-and-a-half conversation.

The Argentine coach left the west London club on Tuesday evening by ‘mutual agreement,’ 11 months after his arrival, and Chelsea is now in search of a new manager.

Despite a challenging season, Chelsea ended on a high with five consecutive victories, securing a spot in Europe and reaching both the Carabao Cup final and the FA Cup semi-finals.

Fabregas, currently the coach at Como, noted that during his visit to Cobham on Friday, there were no indications that Pochettino’s tenure was nearing its end. His comments dispelled any rumors that he might be in line to take over.

On BBC Sounds’ Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas said, “It’s hard to form an opinion or understand the situation fully when you’re not present to witness what happened. I was there; actually, I traveled to London over the weekend.”

He continued, “I had a great relationship with Mauricio. Whenever we played against his teams, I always found him to be a very kind and gentlemanly person.”

Fabregas added, “I thought everything was positive and serene around the training ground on Friday, with Chelsea having won four games in a row just two days before the end of the season.”
