Datro Fofana claims he’ll compete with Jackson at Chelsea in the upcoming season, asserting, “I don’t lack anything compared to him.”
“I haven’t really thought about it,” the Ivorian told Capital Football when questioned about his future with Chelsea.
“I’m considering returning and possibly participating in the pre-season with Chelsea. Back in January, I wanted to stay, but certain events unfolded… Nevertheless, I don’t feel inferior to Nicolas Jackson, who is also a friend of mine.”
Fofana’s loan spell at Burnley hasn’t been as fruitful as hoped, with only four goals in 15 appearances. Despite scoring twice on his debut, things didn’t improve thereafter.
Reflecting on what went awry, the 21-year-old stated, “It’s just how life goes. I had a promising start at Burnley, but then the manager made his decisions. I’d rather not delve into the specifics.”
