BREAKTHROUGH ✅✅: Antonio Conte Confirms Premier League Club Has Deal with Osimhen
Arsenal have shown interest in signing Victor Osimhen this summer. The club is looking for a new attacker but it’s uncertain if they will opt for a traditional striker or a versatile forward.
Currently, Arsenal boasts players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka on the wings. Although Kai Havertz has performed well up front, he is not a reliable source of 20 or more goals per season.
As a result, many fans are hoping for a new striker this summer, with Osimhen being a highly favored option. Recently, his manager hinted at a potential transfer in this window.
Antonio Conte, after being appointed as Napoli’s new manager, made some comments about Victor Osimhen amidst Arsenal’s interest. The former Tottenham boss had several conditions before taking the job at Napoli, including not selling key players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and Stanislav Lobotka.
Osimhen, however, was not among the players Conte mentioned as essential to his project. The Nigerian striker, regarded as one of the best in the world, is expected to leave Napoli this summer.
When questioned about Osimhen, Conte praised him but disclosed that he has been informed of an existing agreement between Napoli and Osimhen to part ways this summer. In a press conference quoted by the Metro, Conte said, “Regarding Osimhen, I am aware of the situation. There are agreements in place, different from the others. I cannot intervene as it is part of prior agreements made clear to me.”
Osimhen’s release clause, inserted in his contract signed in December 2023, stands at £113 million. This high price is a significant deterrent, and Arsenal is not willing to pay that much. Recent reports indicate Napoli has reduced his price to £85 million, making him more affordable, yet no club has made a move.
Arsenal values Osimhen at £63 million, and it remains to be seen if Napoli would agree to sell him for that amount.
