Chelsea have been engaged in discussions over the past few days to enhance their squad, exploring various options for potential transfers to Stamford Bridge. Initially, the Chelsea manager was dissatisfied with the center forward situation but has recently made moves to address this issue.

Earlier in the summer, Chelsea were linked with Victor Osimhen despite significant competition from a French team, which reportedly made an £80 million offer that was rejected despite the player’s interest in joining.

Recent reports indicate that Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Osimhen, with the transfer possibly being finalized this week under Antonio Conte’s guidance. The French Ligue 1 team has prioritized Romelu Lukaku, and any deal between the clubs would likely involve Osimhen moving to Chelsea. Enzo Maresca is willing to sign the player before the end of August.

Osimhen has a £110 million release clause in his contract, but Maresca is unlikely to agree to such a high fee without a reduction.

Chelsea might also consider a loan move to avoid a substantial financial commitment this summer. Romelu Lukaku has turned down offers from AC Milan, Roma, and clubs in the Saudi Pro League, making a move to Napoli more likely this season.

Osimhen would be a valuable addition to Chelsea, given his impressive performances last season, including scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli since 2020 and 15 goals last season.

Chelsea values Lukaku at a £35–40 million release clause, which could be key to securing a deal with Napoli for Osimhen. Additionally, Chelsea might need to sell Conor Gallagher to fund a permanent transfer.

Antonio Conte admires Romelu Lukaku, and Chelsea is similarly interested in Victor Osimhen, suggesting a possible transfer could occur before the end of August.
