BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea transfer confirmed following unexpected £18m decision involving Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea have confirmed another summer transfer with Andrey Santos joining Strasbourg on loan. The Brazilian midfielder signed with Chelsea 18 months ago from Vasco da Gama and was initially loaned back to his former club for the rest of that season.

Santos started the pre-season training under Mauricio Pochettino, but it was decided that he would join Nottingham Forest on loan. However, it soon became apparent that the 20-year-old would not get regular playing time there, so he was recalled and sent to Chelsea’s sister club, Strasbourg, instead.

In the latter half of the 2023/24 season, Santos made 11 appearances and scored one goal for Strasbourg, with both clubs eager for him to continue his development there. Meanwhile, Chelsea has been very active in the current transfer window, bringing in several new players while also seeing some departures.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Filip Jorgensen have been notable arrivals, while Lewis Hall, Ian Maatsen, and Omari Hutchinson have left for significant fees. Additional transfers are anticipated at Stamford Bridge, with a major signing potentially in the works.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been frequently linked to Chelsea, and negotiations are ongoing for a season-long loan with an option to buy, while Romelu Lukaku is set for a reunion in Italy with Antonio Conte, according to The Athletic.

In previous windows, Osimhen was expected to join Chelsea permanently, with Lukaku leaving temporarily, but now the situation has reversed.

Regarding other potential exits, Conor Gallagher has yet to decide on a transfer to Atletico Madrid, despite Chelsea having accepted their offer for him. Trevoh Chalobah, who was left out of the club’s pre-season tour squad, is available for transfer, with Chelsea asking for £25 million to sanction his departure.
