BREAKING NEWS ✅✅: The most significant price changes in FPL see Chelsea’s Cole Palmer setting a new fantasy football record.

Cole Palmer’s remarkable debut season at Chelsea has seen his FPL price soar in a record-breaking increase.

The 22-year-old scored 22 goals and provided 13 assists in the Premier League’s official fantasy football game last season, making him an incredible bargain at an initial price of just £5m. However, his price for the upcoming season has significantly increased.

Palmer’s value has jumped by £5.5m to £10.5m, the largest increase ever recorded. This record was previously held by Andy Carroll, who saw his price double from £5m to £10m before the 2011/12 season after moving to Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Harry Kane comes in third for his increase from £5m to £9.5m in the 2015/16 season after breaking into the Tottenham squad the previous season and winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award. Other notable increases include Charlie Adam (£5m to £9m in 2011/12), Gylfi Sigurdsson (£5m to £9m in 2012/13), and Riyad Mahrez (£5.5m to £9.5m in 2016/17), all of whom saw their prices rise by £4m.

Like Carroll, Adam had recently joined Liverpool in a £6.75m transfer from relegated Blackpool, where he had registered 12 goals and eight assists from midfield. Sigurdsson moved to Tottenham in the summer of 2012 for £8m from Hoffenheim after an impressive loan spell at Swansea City, where he scored seven goals and provided four assists. Mahrez, of course, was instrumental in Leicester City’s title-winning season, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists to warrant his increase.

This season, Palmer is the biggest riser by far. The next highest increase is for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, whose price has risen from £5m to £7.5m. Both Anthony Gordon (£5.5m to £7.5m) and Phil Foden (£7.5m to £9.5m), who had standout seasons for Newcastle United and Manchester City respectively, have seen their prices increase by £2m.

Players who have seen their prices rise by £1.5m include Bukayo Saka, whose price has increased from £8.5m to £10m after another excellent campaign for Arsenal, Fulham striker Rodrigo Muinz (£4.5m to £6m), Manchester City backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega (£4m to £5.5m), and Alejandro Garnacho (£5m to £6.5m).

Some notable price decreases for the 2024/25 season include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kevin De Bruyne, and Christopher Nkunku, all of whom have seen their prices fall by £1m. Alexander-Arnold is now a more viable defensive option at £7m, although he remains the most expensive in his bracket. De Bruyne’s price has dropped to £9.5m after an injury-hit season that saw a decrease in his output. Nkunku is now priced at £6.5m and has been reclassified from a forward to a midfielder, who earn an extra point for a goal and a clean sheet.

Perhaps the most significant fall is Marcus Rashford, whose price was £9m last year. He has suffered a £2m drop to £7m after a lackluster 12 months for both club and country.
