Chelsea is actively searching for a new striker. While Nicolas Jackson has shown potential, his impact at Stamford Bridge hasn’t been as significant as hoped. Therefore, the club is exploring transfer market options to secure a top-quality number nine. Victor Osimhen is their main target, but competition from PSG is intense, as they see him as Kylian Mbappe’s successor, who is likely headed to Real Madrid.
Another potential option is Ivan Toney. However, acquiring him won’t be easy due to interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Chelsea might need to widen their search, and Victor Boniface has emerged as a possibility, according to BILD and Christian Falk, the publication’s chief transfer expert.
Falk told CaughtOffside, “Nicolas Jackson hasn’t solved Chelsea’s striker issue. Someone else might: Victor Boniface, who joined from Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €16 million… Contracted until 2028. Currently valued at €40 million. Chelsea is interested, but Bayer Leverkusen is hesitant to sell.”
Osimhen’s fellow Nigerian, Boniface, showed great form by scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists in 23 games before an adductor injury sidelined him for several months. At 23, he is considered one of Europe’s most promising forwards, though there are concerns about his injury history, having already suffered two ACL injuries early in his career.
