BREAKING: Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca tells Carlo Ancelotti, “This isn’t a video game!”
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has responded to Carlo Ancelotti as his team prepares to face Real Madrid in North Carolina.
The European giants are getting ready for the new season and will meet at the Bank of America Stadium, with the match starting at 12 a.m. UK time on Wednesday.
Ancelotti has praised Maresca ahead of the clash and encouraged Chelsea to be patient with their new Italian manager.
“They have a good squad, good players, young,” said the Real Madrid manager. “They have a young manager. They need to be a little bit patient, the owners, to take experience, to grow. But the signings that they have made are really good.”
Maresca has responded to Ancelotti’s remarks, saying: “You cannot think after two weeks, three weeks that it will all work. I appreciate Carlo’s words. I worked under him, and his career is unbelievable. It’s not something you make in two days; this is not PlayStation.”
Meanwhile, Moises Caicedo has offered an explanation for Chelsea’s poor pre-season performances, attributing their form to the quality of the “pitches” in the USA. The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw by League One side Wrexham AFC in California and were defeated by Scottish club Celtic 4-1.
