One Premier League Club Set to Frustrate Chelsea This Summer

Chelsea has had a promising transfer window so far, even though it’s only early July. The Blues have already secured several signings, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City, who joined on Tuesday.

In addition to Dewsbury-Hall, Chelsea has acquired Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, and Tosin Adarabioyo. They also have a deal in place for Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, set to join next year.

Chelsea’s shopping spree within the Premier League continues, as they have signed Dewsbury-Hall, Adarabioyo, and Kellyman from fellow English clubs. However, their pursuit of Premier League talent might not be over.

Chelsea is reportedly interested in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon. However, Newcastle is determined to keep him at St James’ Park.

According to talkSPORT, Newcastle plans to offer Gordon a new contract to fend off interest from rival clubs. Gordon was instrumental last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 35 top-flight appearances.

While Chelsea is keen on signing Anthony Gordon, Newcastle’s potential new contract offer isn’t their only hurdle. Other Premier League rivals are also interested in the 23-year-old. CaughtOffside reports that Liverpool is currently the most interested in Gordon. Additionally, Manchester United is eyeing the England international, who could cost around £75 million, complicating Chelsea’s chances of securing him.

Given that Chelsea still has Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling on their roster, it’s unlikely they will prioritize Gordon at £75 million. However, this could change if Enzo Maresca decides to part ways with one of them this summer.
