Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi comments on his future before the Spain vs Italy match.

Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi has stated that he is not concerned with his future during Euro 2024, despite being linked with a potential move to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has had a stellar season with Real Sociedad and is currently part of Spain’s squad for their Euro 2024 campaign this summer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly admires Zubimendi greatly, and Barcelona has also considered pursuing the midfielder.

Zubimendi’s potential transfer is facilitated by a €60 million (£50.7m) release clause in his Real Sociedad contract.

However, the midfielder is firm in his decision not to pursue any transfer opportunities during the Euro 2024 tournament.

When asked if he views the tournament as a chance to attract interest from other clubs, Zubimendi replied: ‘I am focused solely on the success of the national team, not on personal gains from this European Championship.

‘My energy is dedicated to the team and winning the tournament. Any individual benefits will follow naturally. I am not considering this right now.’

Zubimendi made a late substitute appearance in Spain’s 3-0 victory over Croatia in their Group B opener on Saturday and acknowledges the stiff competition within the national team’s midfield, with Manchester City’s Rodri ahead of him in the selection order.
