Arsenal hero Mesut Ozil makes a promise to Tottenham ahead of their clash with Manchester City.
Mesut Ozil has vowed not to tease Tottenham again if they manage to avoid defeat against Manchester City tonight.
Arsenal find themselves in the unusual position of needing their north London rivals to do them a favor to help secure the Premier League title.
Anything less than a win for Pep Guardiola’s side would put Arsenal in the driver’s seat heading into Sunday’s final fixtures.
With Spurs still vying for Champions League qualification following a 3-3 draw between Aston Villa and Liverpool, Ozil, known for trolling Tottenham, is hopeful they can achieve an unlikely result.
“First time ever tonight: COME ON YOU SPURSSS!!” Ozil wrote on X. “If Tottenham don’t lose this game I will never make fun of them again… I promise.”
Ozil isn’t alone in this sentiment; his former Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott is also supporting Tottenham for the night.
“I’m wearing all Tottenham white right now,” said Walcott. “I mean it’s one of those. I expect Man City to win but I also expect Tottenham to go out there and perform because they’re at their home ground and will want to perform.”
