Arsenal have reached a conclusion regarding the transfer of David Raya, while Brentford’s position on Ivan Toney’s potential move has become evident.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed his expectation for David Raya to finalize a permanent move to Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window following a successful loan spell. Raya, who joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Brentford last summer, has been instrumental for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, even securing the Premier League’s Golden Glove award.
While Arsenal reportedly have the option to make Raya’s move permanent for £27 million, Arteta has remained non-committal when questioned about the club’s stance on a summer transfer. Raya himself has expressed his desire to extend his stay at Arsenal but acknowledges that the final decision rests with the club.
Frank, addressing Raya’s future, expressed confidence that the goalkeeper will not return to Brentford, stating, “He will be at Arsenal. They will be more than happy to have him, and I don’t expect anything else than they will trigger that option.”
Regarding star striker Ivan Toney, Frank noted that while he remains a Brentford player for now, there are ongoing rumors about his future. Frank emphasized his desire to keep Toney at the club, but acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the situation, with various clubs, including Arsenal, monitoring the player’s status closely.
