An exclusive report indicates that Chelsea might sell a player to Manchester United for £60 million, a player who is finally hitting his stride.

Towards the end of last summer, there was significant frustration over Chelsea’s handling of a potential loan deal that would have sent Marc Cucurella to Manchester United. After a disappointing first season at Stamford Bridge following his £60 million transfer, Cucurella’s signing was already viewed as problematic. Chelsea had promising young players like Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen to support Ben Chilwell, suggesting limited playing time for Cucurella.

A loan to United could have increased the chances of selling Cucurella and given more opportunities to the younger players. However, the deal fell through, resulting in Maatsen spending much of the season on the bench before being loaned out, while Hall was loaned to Newcastle with an option to buy. Cucurella ended up playing regularly, as Chilwell missed most of the season due to injury.

Recently, Cucurella has found better form under a new system implemented by Mauricio Pochettino, but a transfer might still be in the works.
