A £50,000,000 Arsenal star is set to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal are set to part ways with Thomas Partey this summer and plan to make a significant addition to their midfield. Partey joined the Gunners in 2020 after his £50 million release clause from Atletico Madrid was activated. Although he played a key role under Mikel Arteta, his impact diminished last season due to injury issues.
Despite starting Arsenal’s final four games of the season, the club is ready to sell him, according to Fabrizio Romano. Partey has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and the Turkish Super League.
In response, Arsenal are looking for a new central midfielder to play the No.6 role, allowing Declan Rice to move to a more advanced position. They have a long-standing interest in Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, but Villa’s Champions League qualification means they are under no pressure to sell. Similarly, Newcastle are expected to demand around £100 million for Bruno Guimaraes, who seemed to bid farewell to fans, although manager Eddie Howe dismissed this interpretation, emphasizing Guimaraes’ importance to the team.
