Roma forward Tammy Abraham is being considered for a return to the Premier League in a discounted £26 million transfer deal.

Roma is eager to reduce their wage bill by offloading Tammy Abraham, who endured a season marred by injuries, prompting them to offer him to Premier League clubs, including Spurs.

Ange Postecoglu’s team is actively seeking a new number 9 and has also expressed interest in Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. However, they are hesitant to meet Solanke’s £65 million release clause.

Former Chelsea star Abraham had a standout debut season in Serie A, scoring 27 goals, but his impact dwindled last season with just eight league starts.

Interest in the 26-year-old isn’t limited to Spurs, as Aston Villa and Everton are monitoring his situation. Abraham enjoyed a successful loan spell at Villa Park in the 2018/19 season, scoring 26 goals to help secure promotion to the Premier League before returning to Chelsea.

West Ham is also eyeing Abraham to bolster their attacking options, especially with Michail Antonio likely to depart this month.

Abraham joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021 for £34 million and quickly adapted to Serie A, but his second season was challenging, managing only nine goals before a cruciate ligament injury on the final day.

Despite returning to action in April, Abraham struggled to find form, scoring just one goal in eight appearances for Roma.

New Roma manager Daniele De Rossi is targeting Juventus’ Matias Soule as part of his squad overhaul for the upcoming season.

A return to the Premier League could offer Abraham a chance to revive his career and possibly rejoin the England national team fold. His last appearance for England was in June 2022 against Italy in the Nations League, though he was later left out of the World Cup squad.
