Arsenal and Chelsea have been informed that a decision regarding Benjamin Sesko’s transfer will be made ‘very soon’.

Arsenal and Chelsea could reportedly learn the fate of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this week, before the European Championships kick off in Germany.

Sesko has been heavily linked with a transfer this summer after scoring 18 goals for his Bundesliga club. The Daily Mirror reported last month that the 21-year-old had agreed to move to North London and favored a switch to Arsenal.

However, the transfer has not progressed yet, and hopes of a deal this month appear slim with the European Championships starting in three days.

Sesko has been called up for the Slovenian national team and is seen as a key player for their group, which includes England, Denmark, and Serbia. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the upcoming tournament will not affect the decision on his future.

“My information is that it could come really soon,” Romano said regarding the transfer decision. “I don’t think it is going to be a long saga; I think it will be resolved in June, possibly before the Euros, but it depends on the player. The player’s priority is to decide as soon as possible, so I expect the decision very soon.”

“It could be before the Euros, but in any case, I expect the decision in June, not in July or August. This is part of the planning.”

“Benjamin Sesko does not like to be in the media with many rumors. He likes to have clarity for his present and future, so I think we will have the answer soon, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea all involved.”

“But let me mention RB Leipzig again. They are still in the picture and value him as a potential star for their team next season, with Marco Rose pushing to keep him for at least one more season.”

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are seeking a goal scorer for next season. The Gunners relied heavily on their attacking midfield for goals last season, and Mikel Arteta is looking for a consistent striker. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s main striker, Nicolas Jackson, had a mixed debut season in the Premier League, and a new striker could help alleviate some of the pressure on him.
