Odegaard holds onto the Men’s Player of the Season title.
Martin Odegaard has been named our Men’s Player of the Season for the second consecutive year.
Our captain retained the award he won in 2022/23, securing 33% of the votes from our supporters due to his outstanding performance in leading us close to the Premier League title.
Declan Rice finished in second place, and William Saliba came in third.
Martin is now the fifth player in our history to win this prestigious accolade in back-to-back seasons, joining the ranks of Liam Brady, Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, and Bukayo Saka.
The Norwegian midfielder was exceptional last season, playing in 48 out of 52 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, and providing 11 assists, 10 of which were in the Premier League, surpassing his tally from the previous term by three.
His season started strong with four goals in his first 10 matches, including lifting the Community Shield at Wembley after a penalty shootout victory over Manchester City, where he scored the first spot-kick. He also netted a penalty against Crystal Palace in August and contributed to our 3-1 win against Manchester United, kick-starting our campaign.
In the spring, he scored four goals in nine appearances from February to April, keeping us in the title race. He showcased his creativity with a remarkable assist that enabled Leandro Trossard to break through Porto’s defense, helping us reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 15 years.
Martin created more chances from open play (88) than any other player in the Premier League this season, and he covered 401km in his 35 league appearances, with only four players covering more ground.
Unsurprisingly, he was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season and won our Player of the Month award for December, the same month he reached 100 Premier League appearances. His 150th game for Arsenal was memorable as he led us to victory at Tottenham Hotspur for the second consecutive season, earning him the distinction of our star performer once again.
