LATEST NEWS: West Ham midfielder issues a warning to Chelsea’s top player.
West Ham United midfielder Edson Alvarez allegedly made a threatening remark towards Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez during a heated exchange in their Premier League clash on September 21. Chelsea emerged victorious at the London Stadium with a commanding 3-0 win, featuring two goals from Nicolas Jackson and another from Cole Palmer. The match was marked by intense physical confrontations and verbal spats. One key moment occurred in the second half when referee Sam Barrott booked Alvarez for a foul on Palmer, igniting a dispute with Fernandez.
According to Argentine media outlet Diario OLE, despite covering his mouth, Alvarez reportedly told Fernandez, “I’ll wait for you,” and added, “I’ll kill you outside, wherever you want.” Fernandez, seemingly unbothered, patted Alvarez and replied, “Go on, go on.”
Alvarez’s performance also came under scrutiny for his defensive lapses, particularly in failing to track back effectively when Jackson scored his first goal in the fourth minute. He was also outpaced by Jackson for the striker’s second goal, which came from a Moises Caicedo assist in the 18th minute. Chelsea’s dominant win boosted them to fourth place in the Premier League standings, with 10 points from five games (three wins, one draw, and one loss). Their next match will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on September 28 at Stamford Bridge.
