Aaron Ramsdale gives a significant clue about a possible Arsenal transfer shortly after denying a deal with Newcastle.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has hinted on social media that he may leave the club this summer. This season, Ramsdale has become the second-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium after summer signing David Raya took his place. This change has sparked reports that Ramsdale might seek more regular playing time elsewhere.

Recently, there were claims that Ramsdale had agreed to join Premier League rivals Newcastle United when the transfer window opens. However, Ramsdale denied these reports on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple post saying, “News to me” and a laughing face emoji.

Football.london reported earlier that Ramsdale had previously turned down a move from a club in the bottom half of the table. A move to Newcastle could be more appealing, especially if they qualify for European football again next season.

Shortly after denying the Newcastle agreement, Ramsdale hinted at a potential departure from Arsenal. He shared a video on his Instagram stories showing shoes given to him by Arsenal Women’s defender Lotte Wubben-Moy, with a message from her expressing regret that she won’t see him wearing them at the training ground. Given that Wubben-Moy is a key player for Arsenal Women, her message suggests that people around the club expect Ramsdale to leave before the new season starts.

Whether Ramsdale moves to Newcastle or another team remains to be seen. If he does go to Newcastle, he will compete with fellow England goalkeeper Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka for the starting position.
