BREAKING NEWS: Tottenham reach a major financial agreement with Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke.

The agreement will have Spurs pay an initial £55 million, potentially increasing to £65 million with possible add-ons.

Dominic Solanke, a former Liverpool and Chelsea striker, has revitalized his career on the south coast, scoring 21 goals last season.

Solanke narrowly missed being selected for England’s Euro 2024 squad and is eager to advance his career.

Chelsea, his childhood club, had been rumored to be interested in signing the 26-year-old, while Arsenal also showed interest back in January.

However, Tottenham has won the competition for the forward, and it now seems certain he will move to North London.

Solanke’s current contract reportedly includes a £65 million release clause, but it can only be activated by specific clubs.

Tottenham refrained from signing a new striker following Harry Kane’s departure last summer, but Ange Postecoglou now seems ready to recruit his ideal replacement for the England captain.

“What’s important is the type of striker we get,” Postecoglou said during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Japan.

“You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective and technical aspects, so it’s going to be a striker that fits that mold.

“It’s still the area of the park where we’re probably the thinnest squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.”

It was expected that Spurs would partially fund Solanke’s transfer through the sale of Richarlison, who had been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, the Brazilian international made a strong statement on Thursday, insisting he was ready to fight for his future after two largely frustrating seasons in North London.

The 27-year-old told ESPN Brasil: “There has been an offer, but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Seleção and in the Premier League speaks louder. The money is big, but my dreams are bigger.”
