Arsenal urged to pursue “explosive” Jadon Sancho transfer as Manchester United makes the winger appear mediocre
Arsenal have been encouraged to make a significant move for Jadon Sancho this summer.
Sancho’s tenure at Manchester United seems to be coming to an end after a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag following a loss to Arsenal in September. Subsequently, the winger was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, where he has regained his form.
At 24, Sancho has scored three goals and provided two assists, contributing to Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final. His future is expected to be a major topic during the summer transfer window.
With Manchester United willing to sell, several clubs could show interest, and Arsenal is being urged to join the fray. Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has praised Sancho as “dynamite,” asserting he would be an ideal fit for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
“I mentioned how impressive Jadon Sancho was in the Champions League during commentary – he looks revitalized, fit, lean, and explosive. He’s dynamite on the field, so quick and difficult to catch,” Petit told Grosvenor Sport.
“He’s back to his best while Manchester United struggles, so if Arsenal wants him, why not? Currently, even the best player in the world would appear average at Manchester United within two months.
“This is the worst Manchester United side I’ve ever seen, with so many average players, and even Casemiro looks poor. It must be tough being a Manchester United fan, considering the club’s history. They must be wondering: ‘What is happening?’”
Meanwhile, Ten Hag remains reserved about Sancho’s future at Old Trafford. He confirmed that Manchester United officials have traveled to Germany to observe Sancho’s performances.
“We are progressing in that process. We don’t attend all the games, but we’ve watched several Dortmund matches where Jadon played,” Ten Hag said.
“We had a meeting with him, discussed things, and will continue this process. There was a conflict, but let’s focus on finishing the season first. This issue is not crucial now.
“In the league, things aren’t going well for us. We have four critical league games and the FA Cup final ahead, and then we will see. Jadon performed excellently, demonstrating why Manchester United signed him and his high value to the team. I’m happy for Jadon and his performance yesterday, and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
