Chelsea are reportedly pursuing another player this summer, with Enzo Maresca determined to secure more deals. They are eyeing Manchester City for a potential signing who can perform similarly to Cole Palmer.

According to Football London, Chelsea is negotiating to acquire another prolific talent who could follow in Cole Palmer’s footsteps by moving to West London. Reports suggest that Manchester City is open to the deal since the player is not part of their long-term plans.

Oscar Bobb, a graduate of City’s academy, was a standout performer in Pep Guardiola’s squad last season, delivering many impressive performances akin to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer joined Mauricio Pochettino’s squad last season and quickly became a crucial asset, scoring 25 goals across all competitions. His exceptional performance earned him numerous awards and a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Like Palmer, Oscar Bobb, who has scored twice for Norway, has made only 26 appearances for Manchester City. At 21, the same age Palmer was when he moved to London, investing in Bobb could be a strategic move for Chelsea to enhance Maresca’s attacking options.

“Chelsea believes they might have a chance to sign Bobb if he doesn’t get enough playing time in pre-season and feels he won’t have opportunities at City. Bobb is highly rated by The Blues director Joe Shields.”

Chelsea is on a determined search for a new striker, possibly a new number 9, and Bobb fits the bill. Pep Guardiola seems willing to consider a move for Bobb, as he is unlikely to feature prominently in the senior squad.

Enzo Maresca may need to strengthen his striking options, and adding Oscar Bobb could address several issues, given the player’s comparable style to Cole Palmer.
