OFFICIAL DONE DEAL✅✅: “Arsenal Officially Announce the £50M Signing of a World-Class Goalkeeper, Calling It ‘A Dream Come True'”

David Raya has expressed that joining Arsenal permanently is a “dream come true” after the club confirmed his transfer from Brentford.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper originally arrived at Arsenal on loan last summer. During his loan spell, Raya made 41 appearances and established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, replacing Aaron Ramsdale. His impressive performances led to a permanent deal valued at £27 million.

Arsenal announced the completion of the transfer on Wednesday, with Raya looking ahead to his future at the club. Reflecting on his permanent move, Raya said, “After spending a year on loan as a Gunner, I’m thrilled to now officially be an Arsenal player for the upcoming years.

“I’m excited about the future while appreciating the present moment. It’s a dream come true to be here, and I am grateful for all the support you have shown me over the past year.”

Currently representing Spain at Euro 2024, Raya had a standout season with Arsenal, winning the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Glove by keeping 16 clean sheets. He conceded just 24 goals, contributing to Arsenal’s top defensive record in the league.

As Spain advances to the European Championship quarter-finals, facing Germany on Friday, Raya is expected to join his Arsenal teammates at the end of July after a well-deserved break.

Arsenal’s pre-season schedule includes a trip to the United States on July 21, where they will play against Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Liverpool. Additional fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon are set for August 7 and August 11 at Emirates Stadium.

Manager Mikel Arteta was eager to finalize Raya’s transfer early, indicating in May his preference for securing new signings promptly. “That’s the ideal scenario,” he stated when questioned about completing transfers at the beginning of the window.

“Every club desires that, as do we as coaches and the players. It helps the team and the environment. When new signings arrive early, it creates a positive momentum.”

Arteta also acknowledged the challenges posed by international tournaments such as the Euros and Copa America. “This summer might be different due to the Euros and Copa America,” he noted.
